4 Months!

Emily's 4 month photo shoot! She was slightly less cooperative this month, but she has a bit of a cold and cough, so that's understandable. And, hey, supermodels are notoriously difficult to work with!

 Some kisses from Aunt Katie.

Week 17 and Zombie Baby

Not alot of goings on this week, just Emily getting cuter and funnier every day. Her personality is really starting to shine through and we just can't get enough of her.
She is a truly happy little girl - every time she makes eye contact with one of us, she smiles the biggest smile ever. It will melt your heart.
She "tells us stories" by babbling and cooing and grunting. We only wish we knew what she was saying!
She loves her crinkly giraffe toy - she chews on his feet and ears and tries to fit his whole head in her mouth. We think she may be starting the teething process - the drool is out of control!

Here she is, ready for the Jersey Shore in her hot pink and leopard.

Cupid's Little Helper- maybe not the most seasonally accurate shirt ever, but so what.
If there is going to be snow on the ground, we can pretend it is still February.

The only day last week that she didn't wear pink, and she doesn't look too happy about it.

Her Great Aunt Susie bought her a singing frog. She watched him very intently, and with one hand ready to defend herself.

Our microwave bit the big one last week (right as I was craving popcorn!) and we have been saying we wanted a new fridge for awhile, so after checking out some great deals online, we headed to Home Depot. Emily feels about the same as I do about that place.

Alot of Emily's conversation sounds like a zombie moaning.  (We watch alot of Walking Dead around here and I am pretty much obsessed with zombies)
While Mikey was getting her ready for her bath last night, he told her she would be a zombie for Halloween.
She thought that was hilarious apparently.

Tomorrow is her Four Month birthday, but we will probably not get around to taking her pictures until this weekend, when Aunt Katie is here (yay!!)

Sweet Sixteen (weeks)

Sweet Emily Marie turned 16 weeks old today! It feels like she is growing every single day and I need her to slow down!
I am truly enjoying every minute with her lately. I can see it now, with a little distance from those first early days, that I must have had more postpartum emotions and stuff going on than I realized. I loved her from moment one, but there were definitely times when I thought "I can't do this". I am happy to say that I am way past that now (getting some decent sleep probably played a big role!)

Here is our recap of our week:
(not in order, because I am too tired to fight with this blog layout right now)

Daily outfits, with a bonus Bat Girl pajama shot thrown in.

Sitting pretty in my chair, chewing on my friend the giraffe (not a cow, Beverly!)

Trying on my new pink TOMS from Aunt Katie - still too big!

Enjoying a beautiful day at the park in Chattanooga with Grandma and Aunt Katie. She didn't even seem to mind that we could not stop laughing at her goofy hat.
Oui Oui Mon Amore, pass the croissants, sil vous plait

Meeting the Easter bunny went well! (but the attempted shopping at Belk right after did not - luckily other people shopping in the baby department have to understand, right?!)

Saturday night dinner in Van Leer - this was our entertainment. Leslie and I said it was the "Delle Bowden Revue" (the lady in the red vest was a dead ringer!)

Napping with Sister Sydney

Lunch at Zaxby's, laughing with Daddy

Practicing tummy time - she has got this head lifting thing down! Now to work on this hair growing thing!

I went to a big consignment sale this week and got a bunch of darling outfits for summer. We are so ready for the warm weather.

Emily came to my work on Friday to wait on Mikey to finish golfing. Apparently work exhausts her too.

Just a picture that I think is sweet.

Bat Girl jammies again.
I handed her my old powder brush and she tried to eat it, and then bonked herself in the head with it.
We will work on makeup application when she is older!

Next week we have her 4 month check up, and shots. Daddy gets to go to that one!

My snotty little 15 week old

I thought they weren't supposed to be little snots this early - maybe at 15 years but not 15 weeks!!
Wrong kind of little snot I guess - my girl is quite literally full of snot. Her nose is so stopped up and she is sneezing a lot the past two days. She doesn't have a fever and she seems to be feeling ok - she is about the furthest thing from a "snot" as she could be, all smiles and laughs and just generally a happy girl. But when she sneezes, look out!
We have been putting saline drops in her nose before bed and attacking her with the snot sucker every once in a while. Not much else we can really do other than keep an eye on her. And hope she doesn't wake up at 2 a.m. again! I swear, she has spoiled us now by sleeping so well the past few weeks, we don't know how to function after a late night wake up call anymore.

Here is what she has been up to this past week:

I turned the camera on my phone around and let her watch herself . She was fascinated.
We took a selfie.
She has been all bottle fed for a few weeks now and lately she has been trying to hold them when we feed her.
If you let go, she can hold it for a second before it slowly starts tilting downwards.
She is eating 6 ounces of formula 5 times a day.
Her outfits for the week. Might seem silly to take a pic every day, but she has so many cute clothes and she grows so fast that I want to document what she wears, just in case it is the only time she gets to wear it!
Mama got confused on Friday and thought St Patricks Day was a week earlier than it is, so we dressed up early. Aunt Katie's high school friend made this precious onesie and headband for Miss Em. She just might have a knack for this modeling thing! Sassy lassie!
After a late night at the Mexican restaurant with Leslie and Paul, Emily took her revenge on us by waking up at 5 a.m. on Saturday. Luckily, she is too sweet to stick to revenge so she fell back asleep on our bed and we all got a bit more sleep before starting our day.

Which week are we on? I'm confused

I have  my weeks all messed up now, so I am just going to say week 14, since that is what she turned today.
This post will be heavy on pics, light on words, because I am tired and I know people only want pics anyway.

This is right before we went to see my Grandaddy at the rehab facility where he is recovering from his heart surgery. We said Emily should be a "therapy baby" because everyone was excited to see her.

Headed to daycare, looking cute.

As always, sucking on those fingers.

Love this picture SO MUCH!

I got out of the shower and found these two bums passed out asleep together.

Kicking those feet!

Teeny Tiny Toms

Lunch at Panera with the Grandparents. Love everyone's facial expressions here.

Trying out my bouncy chair at Grandma's. Not sure what to think.....

Ok, I like it!

And now I am all worn out! Good night!
