Another week has gone by and Emily is now nine weeks old. This week was pretty low key around here. It was kind of cold and dreary and we just hung out around the house most of the week.
Which is fine with me, because we get to just hang out with this smiley little peanut.
On two separate occasions this week, Em and I ran an errand around lunch time and she fell asleep in the car. Both times, she ended up taking a 4 hour nap in her car seat! I guess that thing is just really comfortable!
Aunt Katie and Uncle Tyler came to town this weekend. Emily, Katie, Mom and I went shopping on Friday and Miss Em behaved perfectly. She is getting so much easier to take out and about.
While she was watching me get ready, she decided to catch a few winks. Smart girl.
My mom picked up a Bumbo seat at a yard sale earlier this year, and we plopped Em in it to see how she would do. She seemed to love it! Guess we will be stealing that seat from Mom....
Emily and her grandaddy coordinated their outfits this weekend.
This weekend was our 5th wedding anniversary. It's totally crazy to me that it has been 5 years already!
After our awesome honeymoon in Aruba, we said we would go back every 5 years. With the arrival of Miss Emily, we obviously couldn't go this year, but I have to say I don't think we minded one little bit.

Happy family of three on New Years Eve (just got these pictures from Katie's camera) |
Since the traditional 5th anniversary gift is "wood", I thought we would let our new bed frame count as our gift to each other. (It needs to be cut down a few inches and stained, but it is so much better than the mattress on the floor!)
Well, little did I know that Mikey had another gift in mind. Saturday morning he told me there was a wooden box on the kitchen counter for me, which turned out to be a Genesis Diamonds box with an anniversary band in it! I was totally shocked and so excited! Best husband ever.
Emily says Hooray for Diamonds!
Emily had her 2 month check up today.
She is 23 inches long (up from 20 at birth) and weighs 11lbs 7 oz (8.2 at birth). She is in the 75th percentile for both height and weight.
She also got her first round of shots today. She was a total trooper though - when the first needle went in, she got the most shocked look on her face and burst in to tears. It was just pitiful. The nurse gave the shots really quickly though and then I was able to pick Em up and love on her.
She calmed down in less than a minute and has pretty much been sleeping ever since.
Poor buddy. I hate that she might feel yucky now, but it is worth it to me to keep her safe from some even scarier diseases.
