Week 39 update

So...I could pretty much cut and paste last time's update-that-isnt-an-update.....Still at 3 cm and 90% effaced. I even offered my Dr. $100 to say I was at 5, and no luck!

I really thought there would be something happening, because I was up since about 2 am with what felt like cramps and lower back pain. Katie - I was really dreading having to call you and say "guess what?!? I know you just got home, but come on back!"

My Dr and I agreed that if there is no baby here by next Monday, the due date, we will schedule an induction. I am assuming that they will call me to schedule that, not really sure how that works.

I just want you all to know, I am doing my best to encourage Baby Smith to show his or her face! I walked all over creation this weekend (at least that's what it felt like to my out of shape self) and I got a pedicure - supposedly there is a pressure point in your ankle that can trigger labor. Oh well, at least my toes look nice and pretty!

In non-baby Smith family news, we went to see Life of Pi last night at the super swanky Dickson, Roxy 8 theatre. The movie was great! I was a little nervous to see it because I love the book so so much, but it did not disappoint.

We also put up the Christmas tree yesterday. I originally wasn't going to put one up this year, because I knew I wouldn't feel like taking it down once the baby gets here. But I started thinking of all the photo ops that a decorated tree provides, and it would seem wrong to have a December baby and not get pictures of it under the Christmas tree. I did the best I could hanging ornaments and lights with the belly in the way!
